Title: Steps towards robust quantum computation with Majorana bound states
Abstract: Recently we saw astonishing progress in the experimental realization of Majorana bound states. Soon we will take the next step of not simply probing signatures of Majorana states but controlling them to realize braiding and ultimately quantum computation. I'll talk about challenges and opportunities on the way towards robust quantum information
processing with Majoranas.
In particular, I'll present ways to limit unavoidable non-adiabatic effects when manipulating Majorana states. Moreover, I will discuss a scheme to substantially increase the robustness of a Majorana pi/8 phase gate, which is a crucial missing ingredient for implementing Majorana-based universal quantum computation.
