Fabrication of Bottom Gate Based Semiconductor-Superconductor Nanowire Devices

This thesis presents the work done on fabricating bottomgate based nanowire devices to measure Majorana bound states. It gives an introduction to realizing the Majorana bound state in 1 dimension followed by a describtion of fabricating bottomgate devices. Some of the difficulties using bottomgates will be presented as well as the development in overcoming them.
